Volunteer

Whether you’re bringing history to life through costumed interpretation, tending heirloom gardens, educating visitors on fiber arts and food preservation, assisting with youth agricultural programs, or even keeping score at a basketball game, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved.

Volunteering with Eastern States Exposition means becoming part of something larger than yourself, supporting year-round community programming that educates, entertains, and preserves the traditions that define New England. Our volunteers are storytellers, mentors, historians, artists, ambassadors, and champions of agriculture and culture.

In return, volunteers enjoy meaningful connections across departments and generations, access to workshops and learning opportunities, specialty benefits unique to each program, and tickets to The Big E. Most importantly, you’ll join a passionate community of individuals who care deeply about service, heritage, and the shared experiences that bring millions together each year.

Why volunteer?

"This experience allowed me to give back to a community that has supported me throughout my basketball and professional ventures. I am very thankful for this experience that I will always cherish! "

- Angie Czeremcha of West Springfield, Massachusetts on volunteering for Hooplandia

"I started volunteering last year as a historical interpreter. I heard of the program from my daughter-in-law, who is also a volunteer. Before last year, I didn’t really know much about the Village. I really enjoy learning about this time period and sharing it with people of all ages. I wish more people knew what a great experience it is to volunteer and the joy you give and get when you can make New England history alive for folks who may not know it."

-Ed Stroiney, Living History Interpreter
