In this workshop students will learn the colorful history of Latvian mittens as they knit a child size mitten in the colors of their choice. Topics covered will include tangle-free two color knitting (using one or both hands), fringed, lace and hemmed edges, braid, thumbs, top shaping, finishing and blocking. Participants will leave class with the adult pattern of their choice.
The fee covers yarn and pattern for simple mitten, handouts and folder, and pattern for adult mitten.
Students should bring a set of US #3 (3.25mm) double point needles (or circular needle for magic loop), locking pin marker, tapestry needle and scissors.
