In this workshop students will learn the colorful history of Latvian mittens as they knit a child size mitten in the colors of their choice. Topic covered will include tangle-free two color knitting (using one or both hands), fringed, lace and hemmed edges, braid, thumbs, top shaping, finishing and blocking. Participants will leave class with a pattern of their choice for an adult size mitten.
The fee covers yarn and pattern for simple mitten, handouts and folder, and pattern for adult mitten.
Students should bring a set of US #3 (3.25mm) double point needles (or circular needle for magic loop), locking pin marker, tapestry needle and scissors.
