What are the dates of The Big E?

Each year, The Big E begins on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for 17 days.

What are the hours of the Fair?

Gates open daily at 8 a.m. Most exhibits and buildings are open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. The Avenue of States hours are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. The Midway is open Mon. – Fri., 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Sat. & Sun., 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. (’til 10 p.m. on last day). Storrowton Village Museum hours are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Craft Common is open until 10 p.m. Storrowton Tavern & Terrace is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Cream Puff Bakery is open 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (11 p.m. on Fri. & Sat.) The Yankee Candle Shop is open 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Are pets allowed at the Fair?

Fairgoers are not allowed to bring their pets through the gates during The Big E. Exception: guide dogs.

What is The Big E Cream Puff?

The Big E Cream Puff is the Fair’s signature dessert that debuted in 2002. The sweet and scrumptious treat will make its return in the beautifully designed authentic Cream Puff Bakery in the New England Center. Try our Big Eclair, which made its debut in 2004! Visitors will be able to watch the baking process through large glass windows as the tasty treats are stuffed with a special, secret recipe filling. Ray and Dolores Billie of Billie’s Baked Potatoes operate the state-of-the-art facility. Every Big E fairgoer with a sweet tooth must experience these great goodies. Stop by the take out window for quick, easy access to the tempting desserts.

What happens on State Days and when are they celebrated?

Each state puts its best foot forward, showcasing unique products and exhibits in the buildings and presenting activities and entertainment on the lawns on their special day.

Are handicapped parking and a drop-off areas available?

Eastern States Exposition provides 212 accessible parking spaces, which is more than double the required amount. Adjacent to the handicapped parking area, is a drop-off area, located at Gate 9A. This area is covered by a large canvas tent and has benches for fair patrons.

Where can I rent a stroller or wheelchair?

Strollers and wheelchairs are available for rent at Gates 4 and 9A.
Strollers, $8 per day
Wagons, $15 per day
Wheelchairs, $12 per day
Electric scooters, $50 per day (250 lbs. max. wt.)
Rentals are available on a first come, first served basis. There are no reservations.

If I leave the Fair and return the same day, do I have to pay again?

The Big E provides for its guests who need to leave the grounds for a short period of time. Simply retain your ticket stub and have your hand stamped on your way out any gate. You will need these two items to re-enter the gates during the same day.

Where are the ATMs located on the Fair grounds?

There are seven ATM locations throughout the Fair: inside Gates 4 & 7, in front of the Better Living Center, at Visitors’ Center East & West, at the Food Court, and at the entrance to the Comcast Arena Stage.

Who owns The Big E?

Eastern States Exposition – home of The Big E, is not owned by any specific individual or group. Eastern States Exposition is organized as a not-for-profit, educational institution under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Its governing body is a volunteer Board of Corporators consisting of distinguished civic, business and agricultural leaders from each of the six New England States.

How do I become a Big E exhibitor?

It’s simple! Send a letter with a list of your products, a photo of your exhibit, and a list of the other shows that you have participated in. A response will be sent within a two-week time period.
